Penny Craswell is an editor and freelance writer based in Sydney, Australia. Over the past 17 years she has edited magazines such as Frame, Indesign and Artichoke, and recently was contributing editor of Mezzanine magazine and guest editor of AR. As a freelance writer, she has made intelligent observations on design, architecture and interiors which have been published in Azure, Frame, Mark, Belle, Mezzanine and AR to name a few.
Her industry understanding and ability to communicate in a sophisticated manner have lead to consulting roles with Woods Bagot and Bijl Architecture, as an inhouse communications specialist. Additionally Penny is the founder and editor of The Design Writer and is currently completing her Masters of Design at The University of NSW where she has been researching narratives in design.
Penny has made the journey from Sydney to Milan regularly since 2010 through her various roles.
